Long answer - Coming from the northwest, I admittedly hadn’t originally researched many programs almost 3000 miles away. Then I met a fellow who was CMC EM alumni while in medical school who told me about the strong clinical training, incredibly supportive community, and outstanding faculty mentorship that CMC has to offer. On my interview day I remember Dr. Fox telling us the training here will push us to become the emergency physicians, teachers, scientists, leaders, and protectors that we can be, and that resonated with me. When my wife and I came down for the second look we fell in love with the city of Charlotte and are so grateful to call this place home for at least the next three years. |

Even in the few interactions I had before starting, you could feel how much the residency leadership team, EM department chair, and legendary EM docs who work here care about teaching and imparting their wisdom to the next generation. Also, I was tired of shoveling snow every winter. |
