Medicine Admission Guidelines

Admission Algorithm for Medical Admission from the CMC  ED (as of 07/2017)

• All unassigned medical patients who meet criteria are eligible go to Mercy regardless of Medical Record number (unless they have the usual contraindications).
• All CHS practice patients who meet criteria are eligible to go to Mercy (except Charlotte Medical Patients seen at Med Center Plaza).
• If unassigned patient is NOT eligible to go to Mercy or refuses to go to Mercy
  • Terminal MR digit 1-5 goes to Staff Med 
  • Terminal MR digit 6-0 goes to CHG at Main
• Charlotte Medical Patients seen at Med Center Plaza site stay at CMC and are admitted to CHG 
  • Unless daily e-mail alert states “Transfer Charlotte Medical patients to Mercy”
• Myers Park Internal Medicine Patients stay at CMC
  • Unless daily e-mail alert states “Transfer MPIM patients to Mercy”
