You can message a photo taken on your cell phone to Dr. Libby Edwards, mobile number 704-607-6091, during business hours.
She will either text or call you back with her diagnosis.
As long as you do not have any personally identifying information in the photo, there is no issue with HIPAA.
If the rash is on the face, you could cover the patient’s eyes, crop the photo or take an image of a small area in order to avoid HIPAA concerns.
Her office address is 6406 Carmel Rd, Suite 309. You can send patients to her for follow up, but will need to manually update the address in Cerner in your discharge paperwork (this is being worked on). Please fax a demographic sheet to 704-367-0504 to serve as a referral.
