Cardiology Consult

Starting October 23, 2017, the Sanger ASCOM 60524 will no longer be active.
Our new form of communication until Doc Halo goes live is the Sanger General Cardiology Cell Phone
  • 704-249-9422
  • This phone can receive calls and texts
  • TEXT preferred for non-urgent matters
  • Please leave call back contact information on any text or voicemail

Communication protocols are derived from CMC consult policy and standards. Our goal is for nurses and providers to contact us in an easy, direct fashion while still maintaining efficient workflow.
Admissions/Consults
  • Emergent (need immediate action)
    • Call Phone
    • If no one answers, leave voicemail or text stating emergent consult/admission with callback number
    • If no response within 15 minutes, repeat call
    • Examples
      • STEMI, Cardiogenic shock, Heart block requiring pacing, VT, tamponade
  • Urgent (need action within 30-60 minutes)
    • Call Phone
    • If no one answers, leave voicemail or text stating urgent consult/admission with callback number
    • If no response within 30 minutes, repeat call
    • Examples
      • Unstable angina/ACS, unstable arrhythmias/bradycardia
  • Routine
    • Text Phone
    • Info to text– Callback name/service/number, reason for consult (i.e. pre-op, afib)
    • If no response within 30 minutes, repeat text
      • We will send a “consult received” text to close loop and call if more information needed
    • Examples
      • Pre-op, Afib, chest pain, positive troponin without symptoms, heart failure management, abnormal stress testing, SVT
Communication
  • To get a hold of the Sanger General ACP (nursing, follow up consults, etc) please text the cell phone with a callback number and urgency for return
    • For example – “Routine - Pls call 60666 re: discharge of patient in room 11245” or “Urgent - Pls call 995-1109 to speak about patient in room 11209, trop now 12”
  • If service to be contacted is known, please contact them directly (until Doc Halo goes live)
